Don't forget: your Prefects can be a resource

I would like to remind all students that your House Prefects are always available to answer questions. Sometimes these questions may include topics beyond the scope of matters such as friendships, homesickness or school assignments. There is no doubt that the years that we spend at Hogwarts include some rapid changes as we all mature into young men and young women. It sometimes can be helpful to speak to someone older and wiser who can confidentially and discreetly answer niggling questions that you may have been a bit too bashful to ask anyone up until now. Don't be shy! We are happy to help set young minds at rest.

The Prefects also have a selection of reference materials at their disposal on a wide variety of topics.

The suggestion was ... well, not enthusiatically received at the Prefects meeting, I will admit. But given the situation with Mr Sandoval and all his various partners this past week, it was perfect clear that something must be done. I do hope that this initiative will reach some of the quieter students who might be reluctant to seek you out. Not that the students don't trust you in a general way, mind! But some really do have a lively dread of having any adult--no matter how wise and discreet--know about what they consider their private business.

I wonder whether a few gender-separated meetings of the YPL might also address some of these issues? Perhaps you might raise the idea with Professor Sinistra?

[I did distribute the brochures to the Prefects. We do need more copies by the way of the one entitled "How Far Is Too Far? (Places No Tongue Should Go)."]

'Himself?' For the more awkward questions for that sort, I would recommend that you refer the boys to one of the male Prefects in your House. (I am confident Xi Chang for one can easily depress any juvenile attempts at levity with those sort of questions.) Surely the girls aren't as bad?

And if they are, well, that is one of the reasons you've been chosen to be a Prefect: the Headmistress thinks you should be able to handle it.

I'd rather ask my questions of that lady in the portrait who's cavorting with nymphs in a fountain!

As for our own prefects, I rather think Melinda Pennifold knows how babies get made but she might have just learned it in the last two weeks, you know?

Given the way she's been slinking around, it's quite possible.

And I'd bet that lady knows quite a lot about nymphs, but not necessarily boys.
