When I find out who was responsible for that display in the Great Hall tonight

and I WILL find out...

Whoever you are, you will be very, very, very sorry.

There was a trumpet serenade. And a banner and a lot of streamers, making whizzing noises.

Well, I don't get the joke, I'm afraid.

It's what the banner said. Um, ask someone who was there.

Except better not ask a Ravenclaw.

Oh, I don't mind telling you if I see you, Hannah.

I rather admired the lettering on the banner. It was quite sparkly. Whoever did it is really good at charms.

Why thank you, I really like charms. It also helps to do it for someone who really deserves it.

Dead brilliant!

It was dead smart to have Lee do it. You weren't there, and the twins weren't there, and Percy was talking to Sandoval when it happened, so she can hardly blame him. And Ginny was reading a book and taking notes at the table, so I haven't heard anyone guess it was her. Guess that your whole family's off the hook, even if Padma was saying it must have been a Weasley that hexed her.

Was it Lee who hexed Padma in the first place, by the way?

No, that was us. We nicked her comb from her bookbag, and after hexing it, slipped it back in. She didn't notice, and she probably didn't use the comb till that night, so she has no way of knowing (or proving) that it was us.

Its rumoured that her shrieks the next morning woke up half of Ravenclaw tower.

It said ENEMIES OF THE HAIR, BEWARE!!!

Which is really pretty funny. Padma can't take a joke though. I bet she'll be very, very angry. But she ought to laugh because it was funny.

It kind of was...but, still, it was sort of mean too. Even if it was Patil

Enemies of the HAIR, beware? Oh, that's beautiful, that is.

Any idea who did it, Minerva?

I have my suspicions -- but I have no intention of looking into the matter too closely. It's rare enough that we see a display of purely youthful high-spirited practical jokery! I'll save my worries for the real malefactors, thank you!
